In 1982 Greg started taking photographs while working as a Police Officer for the Truth or Consequences Police Department, in New Mexico. While at the police department, he attended different photography, crime scene and arson classes.

In 1985 Greg went to work as a deputy for the Dona Ana Sheriff’s Office in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Much of his time was spent in the darkroom, developing photos of crime scenes and mug shots.

In 1989, Greg and his family moved to Florida. Greg went to work as a Police Officer for the Haines City Police Department and in 1992 became Assistant Accreditation Manager. Greg’s passion for photography and computers paid off when he convinced the Police Chief to start using digital cameras to take mug shots. HCPD was one of the first police departments in the area to use digital photography.

Retiring at Haines City Police Department in April 2002, Greg went to work as a Security Officer at SeaWorld in Orlando for the next four years. G. Yarman Photography began in 2006.
